Company will increase prices for kaolin clay products for the global paper and packaging industry by 6% - 8%, effective Oct. 1, 2016, or as contracts allow

"This price increase is in direct response to rising raw material costs," said Phil Woolley, director, Paper Europe. "We will continue to monitor market conditions to determine if additional pricing actions will be required in other European markets."

Tronox Alkali will increase soda ash prices by $10.00 per short ton for all grades of soda ash. The increase applies to both bulk and packaged products.

Sustainability
Domtar promotes a long history of sustainability initiatives in North America and detailes how they expect to harvest virgin fiber while also fighting the effects of deforestation. The company's Paper Trail system is allowing the company to effectively communicate and certify new forests in the southeastern U.S.

Thanks to this, 23 individual forest owners have been able to certify their forests – together covering 417 hectares. This type of group certification was developed by PEFC to enable small-forest owners to organize themselves, pool their resources, and work together to achieve certification.
