For months it seemed that the closed mill was destined to be scrapped. Now employees are back to work. Two-thirds of the company’s production now is in brown paper used for containerboard grades for packaging, which are in high demand. Production has rampped up to 1,200 tpd, putting the mill within reach of its 400,000-tpy capacity.

Celulose Riograndense utilizes cranes to load pulp bale units to ships at the factory landing. The new Konecranes cranes, designed for the load of 2 million metric tons of pulp per year, will replace existing cranes to help improve performance and reliability of the loading process.
