The company reported a $191 million expenditure at its Trois-Rivières facility to convert from newsprint production to recycled-content containerboard followed by recent CAD $20 million ($15.3 million) modernization projects at both the Place Turcot and LaSalle mills.

A brand new nanomaterial derived from forest bioproducts means this unique nanocellulosic formulation could become a fat absorbing food additive that could greatly aid weight loss.

Rengo focused on the production technology of cellophane manufactured at its Takefu Plant, independently developing a technology using the intermediate product, cellulose xanthate, to produce cellulose nanofiber. XCNF has xanthate groups in its cellulose molecules, but it is possible to remove these groups with simple processing to convert XCNF into cellulose nanofiber such as that made from pure cellulose.

Published Pricing
Effective at the beginning of next month, the U.S. transaction price for the following grades from Catalyst Paper (Richmond, Canada) will be increasing by $2.00/cwt for new and existing orders: AdvanceTM; Ascent®; Pacificote®; Electracote®.

Discounts and deviations to pricing will be reviewed. Office papers products shipping to the Western U.S. will incur an additional $1.00/cwt. up-charge.
|
Prices will increase approximately 5% on Finch Opaque, Finch 94 and New Leaf Ingenuity grades and approximately 7% for all other Finch Printing, Converting, Publishing, Digital/Inkjet, Technical Specialty and Finch Office Papers. Increases apply to all rolls and sheet sizes.

In addition to office jet, standard bleached paper, Kraft paper grades, copy papers, and school / educational grade papers the company also reported there will be price increases forthcoming for all specialty papers and private label grades. These price increases are scheduled to take effect at the beginning of the upcoming month.

Sustainability
Since VILOFT fibers consist of 100% cellulose, such wipes are completely biodegradable and do not pose a threat to either the waste water systems or the environment.
