Valmet will supply a new-generation machine vision system to ITC in India. The new Valmet IQ Web Inspection System (WIS) will be installed on ITC’s packaging board machine - BM7, replacing the existing WIS system. The Empire Recycled Fiber mill is in development in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania, on the site of a decommissioned steel mill complex.  The mill is anticipated to bring in 505,000 tons per year of recovered fiber from nearby regions, said Bill Moore of Moore & Associates according to Resource Recycling.

Australia's combined annual exports of hardwood and softwood woodchips for the twelve-months-ended April 2020 were recorded at 5.728 million bone dried metric tons (bdmt). In collaboration with the research and service institute Papiertechnische Stiftung (PTS) Heidenau in Germany, Voith is introducing a new measuring method to detect the unwanted tacky contaminants known as stickies. The measuring method, which uses a near-infrared (NIR) camera, allows the reliable detection of contaminants along the papermaking process and offers higher measuring accuracy and a wider range of applications compared to conventional methods. The associated technical rule was recently published as DIN SPEC 6745.
