Smurfit Kappa has announced new targets to further reduce its fossil CO2 emissions, including its ambition to reach at least net zero emissions by 2050. It has also increased its existing intermediate 2030 CO2 reduction target by 15 percentage points to 55%, in comparison to the 2005 baseline.

After 16 years of pulp production, the 10 millionth ton of pulp rolled off the production line at the Arneburg Mercer Stendal pulp mill on October 14, 2020. It is an expression of 18 years of successful work at the Arneburg site and marks a remarkable milestone in the development of the company.

Clyde Industries, a leading provider for boiler efficiency solutions in the pulp and paper sector, received an order from Sun Paper to supply boiler cleaning equipment for their new pulp mill in Beihai, China.

Wepa Group is one of the largest tissue manufacturers in Europe, with 13 sites, 21 paper machines, a production of approx. 780,000 t/year, and a positive annual growth trend. Since 2002, Toscotec and Wepa’s cooperation has been particularly strong at Wepa Marsberg-Giershagen, where Toscotec supplied a new tissue line on a turnkey basis, completely rebuilt PM 5 in two different steps and installed new hoods on other two existing machines, with the result that all tissue machines at the mill are now equipped with TT Hoods.

Georgia-Pacific announced the completion of a $100 million expansion at its Dixie manufacturing facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The plant produces Dixie paper plates and bowls in varying sizes.

The Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC) is pleased to welcome the new Chair of its Board of Directors, Brian Hunt, COO of Southern Champion Tray, LP. With 30 years in the packaging industry, 21 of which working for the 775-employee, multi-plant Southern Champion Tray, Hunt has a breadth of industry experience to help him lead the North American association for paperboard packaging manufacturers over the next two years.

Clampitt Paper announced the retirement of its president Tom Christian. Christian has served as president of Clampitt Paper since December of 2014 and first joined the company in 1976.
