ABB has been contracted by Arctic Paper Grycksbo, a leading producer of high-quality graphical fine paper in Europe, to install a new drive and automation system for its Winder 10 at its mill in Grycksbo, Sweden, to improve the plant’s production and availability as well as meet the latest requirements for safety and machine directive.

Runtech systems will supply a RunEco vacuum system rebuild to Kartonsan Karton Sanayi Ve Ticaret A.S. BM2, Turkey. The delivery includes an EP600-T1 Turbo Blower with ABB frequency converter, EcoDrop water separator and EcoFlow dewatering measurement system.

Sappi North America, Inc. announced that it will sell its hydroelectric assets on the Presumpscot River in Maine to Dichotomy Power LLC, pending satisfactory completion of regulatory and other approvals. The move is designed to allow Sappi to focus on its core competencies and is consistent with Sappi's recent restructuring of the Westbrook site.

EACOM Timber Corporation announced a multi-year commitment to the Local Services Board of Gogama to contribute towards the purchase of new boilers for the Community Centre building and a backup generator for the Gogama water treatment plant. Home to over 300 residents and many EACOM employees, the community is a key partner in EACOM’s operations.

Toscotec will supply an AHEAD 2.2S tissue machine to Saudi Paper Group (SPG) at its Dammam paper mill in Saudi Arabia. The new PM2 will produce premium quality tissue from virgin pulp. The start-up is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2022.

ProJet’s subsidiary in Japan, ProJet Japan Co. Ltd. Based in Tokyo, received an order for 2 Power Cleaners (dryer fabric cleaners) from Takasago Paper for their Paper Machine # 1. The order is a spin-off of the successful installation of Power Cleaners that were already installed on the PM’s 1st and 2nd Dryer Section Top.

The global market for folding cartons will be $136.7 billion in 2021, and as the market recovers from COVID-19 disruption global demand will reach $172.0 billion in 2026, according to a new market data study from Smithers.

Valmet will supply recycled fiber lines for Umka Cardboard Mill rebuild in Serbia. The order is a continuation of Valmet’s board machine rebuild delivery, which will be started up during the second half of 2021. The main target of the rebuild is to increase the customer’s production capacity and improve end-product quality. The recycled fiber lines are scheduled to start-up during the first half of 2022.

Sustainability
AFRY provided expertise in Arauco’s Licancel pulp mill project, which targeted to enable the expansion of water reuse in the pulp production line as part of the company's sustainability objectives. Arauco requested AFRY to develop different scenarios of how the treated effluent could be reused in the pulp mill itself.

Stora Enso has completed the installation of dispersion barrier technology at its Forshaga site in Sweden and production has now started. Completion of the installation follows the company's EUR 10 million investment announced in 2020.

EuroVast Spa, the all-Italian company specialized in the tissue sector, has been a consolidated business in Europe for the last thirty years. With five paper mills, four processing factories, one in Great Britain and another in Holland, it employs about 300-strong workforce and boasts a production output of about 150,000 metric tons.
