Greif, Inc. announced that it is implementing a $60 per ton price increase for all grades of uncoated recycled paperboard (URB) and a minimum 7.0 percent increase on all tube and core and protective packaging products.

Lecta announced a price increase of 12% - 14% on all its Specialty paper grades. The price increase is essential in order to offset the exceptional increase in raw materials driven by the soaring price of gas, energy and chemical costs, the company said.

International technology group ANDRITZ has successfully started up the main equipment forming part of an innovative mechanical pulping line supplied to hygiene and health company Essity in Mannheim, Germany.

The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) has released its September 2021 Printing-Writing Monthly report. According to the report, total printing-writing paper shipments decreased four percent in September compared to September 2020.

Essel Kâğıt started up an AHEAD 2.2L tissue line supplied by Toscotec on a turnkey basis at its Osmaniye mill in Turkey. This is the fourth tissue machine that Toscotec fired up in a period of only three weeks in four different countries in Europe and Asia.

Graphic Packaging Holding Company announced that all required regulatory approvals to complete the proposed acquisition of AR Packaging Group AB have now been received. The transaction is expected to be completed in early November 2021, subject to the satisfaction of the remaining customary closing conditions set forth in the acquisition agreement.

Valmet will supply a repeat order of an OptiConcept M board production line for Pratt Industries in Henderson, Kentucky, USA. The mill will use 100% recycled paper products to produce lightweight, high-strength containerboard and corrugated board grades.

Production line 8, which consumes 75,000 MWh per year, now only uses green electricity from the Schluchsee hydroelectric power plant. This is part of Koehler’s climate strategy and saves 45,000 metric tons of CO₂ per year.

Valmet’s new Pretreatment BioTrac pilot facility was started up at Valmet’s Fiber Technology Center in Sundsvall, Sweden.

The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) announced Eric Steiner as its Vice President of Government Affairs. In his new role, Steiner will help lead the paper and wood products industry’s legislative agenda and drive advocacy efforts before Congress, the Administration, and key state governments. Steiner will join AF&PA on November 1, 2021.
