SCA will increase the price on NBSK pulp (Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft) in Europe by 40 USD per metric ton from January 2022. The new price will be 1,300 USD.

The South African paper recycling industry is facing a critical shortage of various grades of waste paper, in particular pre-consumer (K3) and post-consumer (K4) brown/kraft cardboard. The Paper Manufacturers Association of South Africa (PAMSA) believes that this trend will continue, putting further pressure on domestic paper mills in the run up to annual year-end shuts.

Georgia-Pacific announced significant investments, which total more than $500 million, at its Green Bay, Wisconsin, Broadway mill. The investments will greatly enhance the company's retail consumer tissue and towel business.

Valmet will supply an Old Corrugated Containers (OCC) line, three stock preparation lines, and an OptiConcept M containerboard machine with automation and services to Kivanç Tekstil Sanayi Ve Ticaret's mill in Adana, Turkey.

International Paper today announced it will build a state-of-the-art corrugated packaging plant in Atglen, Pennsylvania. The facility will employ approximately 150 team members.

A group of prominent paper mills and end markets across North America signed a declaration of acceptance and a commitment to increasing recycling of paper cups, including Essity, GP PRO, Graphic Packaging International, Great Lakes Tissue Company, ND Paper, Pratt Industries, Sustana Fiber and WestRock.

Carbon neutral production and the use of 100% renewable electricity by 2030 are among Huhtamaki’s sustainability ambitions. The key global provider of sustainable packaging solutions has now taken a significant step towards reaching these ambitions by signing two 10-year virtual Power Purchase Agreements (VPPA) with global renewable energy developer BayWare covering its operations in Europe.
