Canfor Pulp Products Inc. announced a further six-week (minimum) extension of the curtailment of Softwood Bleached Chemi-Thermo Mechanical Pulp (BCTMP) production at Taylor Pulp due to the ongoing transportation shortages that have resulted in continued high finished product inventories at the pulp mill.

Finnpulp announced that it is abandoning plans to build a bioproduct mill in Kuopio in Eastern Finland.

GreenFirst Forest Products Inc. welcomed Greg Rickford, Minister of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry to the Paper Mill in Kapuskasing to announce that the Ontario government is providing $400,000 through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) to support and strengthen the forestry sector in Northern Ontario.

International technology group ANDRITZ has received an order from Jiangxi Five Star Paper Co., Ltd., China, to supply a high-capacity, chemi-thermomechanical pulping system. Start-up is planned for 2023.

Valmet has been selected as supplier for the modernization of the fiberline no. 1 plant to CENIBRA's pulp mill in Belo Oriente in Brazil. The fiberline will be prepared for a capacity increase of 100,000 metric tons of pulp per year. The start-up is scheduled for September 2023.
