A dryer begins to recover from a flooded condition when the evacuation rate exceeds the condensing rate. Here are some common mechanical problems that can cause paper drying flooding.

Georgia-Pacific has announced plans to upgrade areas of its 640-acre Muskogee (Oklahoma) bath tissue, towel and napkin manufacturing operations. The Muskogee Mill has proposed investments of more than $50 million during the next three years to improve the safety, reliability and efficiency of operations in addition to the investment of a new production line and equipment.

Paper and molded fiber packaging have traditionally relied on a thin plastic film or the addition of fluorochemicals to hold out water and grease. Neither of these solutions is ideal, as plastic layers are not degradable and can be difficult to recycle.

Stora Enso will invest EUR 10 million at its Enocell pulp mill in Finland to replace fossil-based heavy fuel oil with renewable pitch oil. This will reduce the environmental impact of the operations and help in reaching the ambitious target for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
