Ahlstrom-Munksjö Holding 3 Oy's Board of Directors has agreed an ownership reorganization plan under which the production assets, debts, and liabilities relating to its Decor business will be transferred from Ahlstrom-Munksjö Holding 3 Oy, without liquidation, to a newly formed company that will be named Munksjö.

ABB has built on its established relationship with Cheng Loong Corporation by securing a contract to bring its L&W Autoline automated paper testing solution to a mill in Vietnam.

The German Clean Tech Startup BIO-LUTIONS and PulPac, the Dry Molded Fiber pioneer, are natural allies in their objective to replace single-use plastics globally. Together with machine suppliers they have developed a Dry Molded Fiber production line, set to start production in the new BIO-LUTIONS factory in Schwedt/Oder, Germany by the summer of 2022.

The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) has released the 62nd Paper Industry Capacity and Fiber Consumption Survey, indicating overall U.S. paper and paperboard capacity declined, 0.4% in 2021, compared to the average decline of 1.0% per year since 2012.

Specialty paper manufacturer Cartiere di Guarcino selected Toscotec for the rebuild of PM2 at its Guarcino paper mill near Frosinone in Italy. The project is scheduled for December 2022.

MM Board & Paper is investing about EUR 30 million in two state-of-the-art cross cutters with automated core and waste handling at MM Kotkamills in Finland. The investment is aimed at strengthening MM Kotkamills' position as a supplier of cartonboard sheets in the European cartonboard market.

Hot on the heels of its recent sustainability report, Texon has announced it will be officially unveiling its latest innovation, Texon Verde, at Packaging Première in Milan next week. Texon Verde is a new bio-based, biodegradable, cellulose material that can be used to create premium and luxury packaging, as well as fashion and homeware accessories.

Honeywell introduced the Honeywell Safety Watch, its real-time location solution (RTLS), to help drive safety and security and boost workforce efficiency.

Walki has invested in the Finnish start-up Dolea. Together the two companies will start the production of recyclable and printable paper straws in Ylöjärvi, Finland and in Garstang in the UK.

To broaden its offering for tissue machines, Valmet launches a new polyurethane roll cover, Valmet Press Roll Cover PL. The roll cover’s wear-resistant material and adaptive structure are developed to cope with the harsh operating conditions in tissue production, thus leading to longer lifetime of roll cover and energy savings.

Perstorp Group, a leading sustainability-driven global specialty chemicals company, said that it is to be acquired by PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad (PCG). PCG announced that it has signed a Securities Purchase Agreement on 14 May 2022 to acquire the entire equity interest in Perstorp Holding AB.

Valmet has signed a Heads of Agreement with Circa to industrialize the production of sustainable biochemicals at Circa’s small-scale ReSolute plant in France and future large-scale production plants. Valmet will offer the main machinery and equipment and actively contribute to the development of Circa’s production processes of bio-based renewable solvents.

Stora Enso has launched a comprehensive biodiversity program and related targets for its land holdings in Sweden. The program, which covers the Company’s forest land in Sweden, has five focus areas, each with specific actions and measurable targets for 2030.
