Runtech Systems has received a repeat order from DS Smith Paper Ltd, Kemsley Mill, for a RunEco vacuum system rebuild on PM4. In the rebuild, existing liquid ring pumps will be replaced by four EP600 Turbo Blowers. Delivery also includes detailed engineering, EcoDrop and EcoSep water separators.

Smurfit Kappa has invested USD 23.5 million to upgrade its Nuevo Laredo sheet plant in Mexico to become a fully integrated corrugated plant. The investment includes a state-of-the-art corrugator and extension of the building.

At the beginning of June, the XcelLine PM 6 supplied by Voith was successfully started up at the Jinzhong site in the central Chinese province of Shanxi by the paper manufacturer Shanxi Qiangwei Paper. As the leading full-line supplier, Voith delivered the entire production line.

DJM will carry out the dryer section revamping for Rossano Veneto plant of Favini Group. The supply of several DJM Dryers to replace the existing cast iron cans will boost the drying capacity of the paper machine, helping the energy saving.

Metsä Spring, Metsä Group’s innovation company, has launched a new 3D fibre product called Muoto®. Muoto has been produced at Metsä Group’s and Valmet’s demo plant in Äänekoski since May 2022, and is made of Metsä Group’s wood fibres.

Sustainability
Since the beginning of fiscal year 2022, the Voith Group has left no carbon footprint at any of its worldwide locations. The company’s net zero concept comprises four fields of action: increasing the efficiency of its own processes, generating its own regenerative energy, using renewable energy sources, and offsetting the emissions that are currently still unavoidable.
