ABB announced that it has successfully devised a spare parts and maintenance program for Saigon Paper, Vietnam's leading paper manufacturer, enabling the company to drive productivity in their mills.

Valmet will deliver a recovery boiler rebuild and technology upgrade to Mufindi Paper Mills Ltd. in Mgololo, Tanzania. The upgrade will have a significant effect on the performance and capacity of the recovery boiler originally commissioned in the 1980’s.

ANDRITZ has received an order from Dongfang Smart Energy Co., Ltd. of Shaanxi Power Generation Group to supply two paper machine approach flow systems and LC (low consistency) refiners to its mill in Wugong County, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province, China. Start-up is scheduled for the second quarter of 2023.

ANDRITZ has signed an agreement to acquire the Bonetti Group, headquartered in Milan, Italy. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Green Bay Packaging Inc. (GBP) has acquired Interstate Packaging Corp. located in Albert Lea, Minnesota. The acquisition is effective June 30, 2022.

Pulp & Paper
Suzano has announced plans to build a tissue mill with converting operations in the municipality of Aracruz, state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. The new plant would have the capacity to produce sixty thousand (60,000) tons per year of tissue, which would then be converted into tissue and towel products.

Andritz has received an order from Steinbeis Papier GmbH to supply a complete stock preparation line for conventional wastepaper and special grades, featuring a capacity from 78 to 200 t/d, for its mill in Glückstadt, Germany.

The two companies PCMC and Northern Engraving and Machine (NEMCO) – one united by the consolidated experience in the production of machinery, and the other in the production of embossing rolls - have decided to tackle a new challenge: create an Embossing CoE & Tissue Product Development in Europe.

Toscotec, the global market leader of Steel Yankee Dryers, introduces TT Induction SYD, a carbonreduction breakthrough that redefines Yankee dryer technology entirely. TT Induction SYD uses electrical induction instead of steam energy to dry the paper web, thereby cutting direct greenhouse gas emissions to zero.

A Swedish project is the first in the world to 3D print a full-size kayak in one piece. The kayak is made of recycled plastic and is reinforced with wood fibre from Swedish forests.

Representatives of the European paper value chain have pledged to recycle 76% of all paper consumed by 2030. The new, ambitious recycling rate of 76%, calculated by dividing the recycling of used paper by the total paper and board consumption, should be reached by the year 2030.
