Lessebo Paper announced that the drastically increased price for electricity is forcing the company to halt production at its paper mill in Lessebo, Sweden, effective today, August 31.
 
Germany’s emtec Electronic GmbH will present its product palette of specialized measuring and testing equipment, each designed to optimize product quality while saving time and resources, at the MIAC in Lucca, Italy from October 12-14, 2022. 
 
Metsä Tissue announced earlier this year temporary production stops due to extremely high energy prices driven by the energy crisis in Europe. The situation has been continuously worsening and is impacting all of Metsä Tissue's markets in Europe, and is especially demanding on the company's Western and Eastern European mills.

Ponderay Industries, LLC is moving forward with plans for a restart of its papermill located in Usk, Washington and has announced it is in advanced negotiations with key industry partners. Idled since bankruptcy in 2020, the papermill has been meticulously maintained and preserved by a team of former mill employees.
 
Turkish cardboard manufacturer KMK Paper selected Toscotec for the complete rebuild of PM1 at its Kahramanmaraş paper mill in Turkey. Scheduled for the first quarter of 2023, the project will increase the machine’s production capacity and significantly improve paper quality. PM1 produces packaging paper grades, including fluting, testliner, kraft paper, and gypsum board.

Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards announced the start of construction today on a $97 million project to expand and modernize the woodyard at WestRock's containerboard mill in Hodge, Louisiana.
 
The Pawi Group has once again invested in Singen, Germany. After the new building 6 years ago, work on the extension has now been completed. A further 2,300 square metres of the 16,000 square metre site have been built on.
 
OptiGroup has acquired 100% of the company SG Verpakkingen in the Netherlands. The acquisition means that the Packaging business area further consolidates its position in Benelux. The purchase price has not been disclosed.
