The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) released its Q3 2022 Boxboard report. According to the report, total boxboard production in Q3 increased 3% compared to Q3 2021. It was up 2% when compared to the same 9 months of 2021.

The Paper Excellence Group and Resolute Forest Products Inc. announced their intention to sell Resolute's Thunder Bay pulp and paper mill in Ontario, Canada, to further facilitate the regulatory review process.

Suzano on Oct. 24 announced that it has entered an Equity Purchase Agreement with Kimberly-Clark to purchase Kimberly-Clark's Brazilian tissue paper manufacturing and distribution assets ("KC Brasil"), including ownership of the brand "NEVE".

Containerboard/Packaging
The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) released its Q3 2022 U.S. Containerboard Quarterly report. According to the report, total containerboard production in Q3 2022 decreased 8.6% compared to Q3 2021. It was down 1.6% when compared to the same 9 months of 2021.

The Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC) has announced the top winners of its 79th annual North American Paperboard Packaging Competition. These folding cartons and rigid boxes represent some of the best paperboard packaging manufactured by North American converters over the past year.

TAPPI honors member: Arthur Haug. He was a member for 66 years (1943-2009) and passed away at 103 years old. It was a comfort to his family that he passed on his and his wife, Winifred Ann’s 69th wedding anniversary.
