As part of its planned investment plan in France, Lucart announces the acquisition of a logistics hub in the Hellieule business park in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges. The logistics hub will be fully operational during the first quarter of 2024 and improve the storage and shipping capabilities of products manufactured by Lucart's tissue mill in Laval-sur-Vologne.

Ilim Group has summarized the results of its export operations in China in 2022. Based on the last year’s results, Ilim’s deliveries to China reached record-high 1.7 million tons of finished products, including 1.359 million tons of pulp and 360 thousand tons of board.

UPM announced plans to adapt its uncoated publication paper capacity to a long-term profitable customer demand. The capacity reductions are planned to take place in Germany and Austria:

SCA announced that the new kraftliner machine at its Obbola pulp and paper mill in Umeå, Sweden, is ramping up production. At full capacity, which is expected in a few years, the machine will produce 725,000 tons per year of high-quality kraftliner in a range of basis weights between 100 and 200 gsm.

Starwood Orman Urunleri Sanayi A.S., Türkiye, has successfully produced first fibers with its new fiber preparation system from ANDRITZ. Production of fibers for MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) started only five months after commencement of installation.

Valmet will supply a new containerboard machine with extensive packages of automation, services, and industrial internet applications to DS Smith Paper Italia at their Porcari (Lucca) site in Italy.

Clayco, a full-service, turnkey real estate, architecture, engineering, design-build and construction firm, on March 20 celebrated the groundbreaking of WestRock's new 410,000-square-foot corrugated box plant in Longview, Washington. Located just outside of the Vancouver, Washington metropolitan area, this marks the first collaboration between Clayco and WestRock.

Sustainability
Amcor announced a joint research project agreement with Nfinite Nanotechnology Inc. to validate the use of Nfinite's nanocoating technology to enhance both recyclable and compostable packaging. In the proof-of-concept phase of the project, Nfinite's coating technology will be applied to Amcor's existing recyclable and compostable packaging material.

Progroup, the manufacturer of containerboard and corrugated board sheets is expanding its site in Sandersdorf-Brehna to create a zero-waste site. A state-of-the-art waste-to-energy plant is being built right next door to the PM3 paper factory. It will supply the factory with the process heat it requires as well as electricity.

ANDRITZ has received an order from Tetra Pak South East Asia Pte Ltd., Singapore, to deliver a new system for recycling of Used Beverage Cartons (UBC). It will be installed in a board production mill of Dong Tien Binh Duong Paper Co., Ltd, located in Ben Cat Town, Binh Duong Province, Vietnam. Start-up is scheduled for mid of 2023.
