This time I highlight some examples of closures of large mills and that it can be the beginning of a new era for the industrial site where printing paper of various kinds was previously produced.

According to the Brazilian Tree Industry (Ibá), Brazil's pulp production for the first quarter of 2023 increased by 2.6%, while the volume of exports grew by 12.9% compared to the same period in 2022. Paper production hit 2.7 million tons in the first quarter.

Södra is exploring the possibilities for a new pulp that will combine wood from Södra's sustainably managed forests in southern Sweden with agricultural residue from sources close to its pulp mills.

Mondi, a global leader in sustainable packaging and paper, has collaborated with Silbo to upgrade its pallet wrapping from plastic stretch film to Mondi’s kraft paper Advantage StretchWrap. Silbo has installed the first EW Technology PaperWrap machine at its plant in Zory, Poland and provides more sustainable flexible packaging for its broad range of customers, including those supplying fruits and vegetables.

Kadant Lamort SAS, a subsidiary of Kadant Inc., and Unikpakhellas S.A., an affiliate of Invdeco Group, are implementing a new stock preparation system that yields high-quality paper from a wide range of materials while reducing fiber loss and freshwater consumption.

ANDRITZ has received an order from Liansheng Pulp & Paper Co., Ltd. to supply two debarking and chipping lines for the new pulp mill being built in Zhangzhou, Fujian province, China. The company had already entrusted ANDRITZ with major supplies for the pulp mill last year.
