International technology group ANDRITZ has received an order from Infinya Containerboard Ltd. for a complete OCC line including reject treatment system for its recycled paper mill located in Hadera, Israel.

The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) released the June 2023 Printing-Writing Monthly report. According to the report, total printing-writing paper shipments decreased 24% in June compared to June 2022.

Finnish pulp and paper manufacturer Stora Enso has reported a decline in its sales in the second quarter (Q2) of financial year 2023 (FY23), as weak demand persists.

Pulp & Paper
Egyptian linerboard manufacturer ETAP started up PM2 at its Borg Elarab mill, following a press section rebuild successfully carried out by Toscotec. PM2 produces testliner, kraftliner, top kraftliner and white top in the range from 125 to 240 gsm. In 2018, the machine had already been modified by Toscotec who entirely rebuilt its Fourdrinier wire section in stainless steel.

Valmet will supply a new high-capacity winder to Gascogne Papier in France. The winder will be delivered for the paper machine PM 7 at their Mimizan site. The start-up of the machine is scheduled for 2025.

BTG is proud to announce the opening of its new Indian Center of Excellence located in Hyderabad, India. The facility is a state-of-the-art technical support centre and digital hub that will greatly enhance BTG capability to serve the Indian and regional markets.

The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) released the June 2023 Packaging Papers Monthly report. According to the report, total packaging papers & specialty packaging shipments in June decreased 1% compared to June 2022. They were down 4% when compared to the same 6 months of 2022.

Billerud has agreed with the investment company Mimir Group about a divestment of Managed Packaging, which offers packaging solutions to global brand owners. The transaction is expected to be completed during August 2023.

Cascades announced the appointment of Jérôme Porlier as the new President and COO of Cascades Specialty Products Group (SPG), effective July 1, 2023. Porlier succeeds Luc Langevin, who after more than 12 years as the head of SPG is gradually heading towards retirement.
