In response to market demands for more comprehensive packaging solutions, two BW Packaging companies—Accraply and BW Integrated Systems—have combined into a single business called BW Integrated Systems. The reorganized business strengthens the alignment of BW Packaging’s labeling, end-of-line and integration solutions.

Mondi, a global leader in sustainable packaging and paper, has won the German Packaging Award 2023 in the category “material substitution" for Protector Bag ExpandForm, which is awarded by the German Packaging Institute.

New Products
As part of the company’s expansion into the North American market, Billerud, a world-leading manufacturer of superior paper and packaging materials, is introducing its portfolio of coated liners to the US market. This introduction will enable great improvements in sustainability and cost performance for both packaging converters and brand owners.

The tray and the lid of the recyclable packaging are created with natural and renewable materials using corrugated cardboard. The packaging also features a 100 per cent home compostable plastic-free window to provide a view of the sushi whilst on store shelves.

Arctic Paper has decided to invest SEK 285 million in the expansion and upgrade of the biofuel installation at the mill in Grycksbo. The investment provides annual energy cost savings of SEK 50 million.

Dr. Hans-Peter Sollinger, CEO of Voith Paper from 2005 to 2014, turns 70. In his more than 30 years of service at Voith, Sollinger played a key role in shaping the company and made a significant contribution to its success.

The Forest Resources Association (FRA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Keith Gray as its next President, effective November 1, 2023. Gray succeeds Deb Hawkinson, who is retiring after leading FRA for the past eleven years.

Mativ Holdings announced two appointments to its executive leadership team. Mark W. Johnson will succeed Ricardo Nuñez as chief legal officer, general counsel and secretary. Johnson will assume the leadership of the company's legal team on September 1, 2023, from Nuñez, who will be departing the company the same day.

Clearwater Paper Corporation announced the appointment of Sherri Baker as senior vice president and chief financial officer, effective August 14, 2023, to oversee the company's finance and strategy.

TAPPI will be performing its fiscal year-end inventory audit starting August 28. As a result, TAPPI Press orders will not be processed from August 28 through August 31. Orders received during this time will be shipped in the order they have been received starting September 1. All normal payment processing will resume on September 1.
