Sappi Europe has announced a further price increase for its coated and uncoated fine papers.

Sonoco announced it is implementing a EUR 60 per ton, GPB 50 for UK market, price increase for all grades of uncoated recycled paperboard (URB) sold in Europe, effective for deliveries after April 15.

Pulp & Paper
Ahlstrom announced that it has completed a paper machine conversion project at its Thilmany Mill in Kaukauna, Wisconsin. The machine now produces stretchable creped base papers for masking tape.

Ittihad Paper Mill (IPM) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, has again selected Valmet as the main supplier of field services to its annual shutdown in 2024. The shutdown will take place at the end of July 2024.

Swedish-Swiss company ABB has announced it is upgrading a pulp and paper mill for a customer in Japan’s Kyushu area with the latest version of the company’s L&W Autoline automated paper testing system.

Andritz has received a turn-key order from Northwood Tissue Ltd. to supply a new PrimeDry Hood and an air system for a tissue machine rebuild at the mill in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England. Start-up is planned for the third quarter of 2024.

Metsä Board announced on 15 September 2022 that it will start pre-engineering for a new folding boxboard mill in Kaskinen, Finland. The pre-engineering phase included technical design, design of infrastructure and logistics solutions, tendering for the main equipment as well as financial analysis of the project.
