Between 2012 and 2022, the number of people in the EU working in the manufacture of paper and paper products industry increased by 10.9%. In absolute figures, this means that 62 500 more people were working in this industry.

Pulp & Paper
American Baler Company, a leading manufacturer of balers since 1945, is excited to announce an ambitious expansion project at its Bellevue, Ohio facility. The project will commence on April 22, 2024, and is expected to be completed by the fall of 2025.

Metsä Group has entered into an extensive cooperation with international technology group ANDRITZ to conduct a pre-study for the first possible commercial mill producing the Kuura textile fiber. This new type of textile fiber, developed by Metsä Group’s innovation company Metsä Spring, is made from Finnish wood.

West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd. announced that it has completed the sale of its Quesnel River Pulp mill and Slave Lake Pulp mill to an affiliate of a fund managed by Atlas Holdings following completion of customary regulatory reviews and satisfaction of customary closing conditions.

In a joint research project, RISE and Apple have developed a unique bio-based foam. The properties of the foam suggest that it could replace fossil-based materials such as polymer foam, which is often used in packaging, insulation and lightweight composites.
