Sappi Europe is pleased to announce its completion of phase two of a three-phase modernisation project at Gratkorn Mill, Austria. The double-digit million-euro investment consolidates its strong position as a global coated fine paper producer. The objective of this modernisation project is to facilitate future adaptations to meet digitalisation and industry 4.0.

Valmet announced that it will deliver a comprehensive fiberline technology upgrade to Lecta's integrated pulp and paper mill in Zaragoza, Spain. The upgrade enables a significant capacity increase in pulp production, while reducing operational costs and improving the availability of the fiberline.

CMPC signed an agreement with the State of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) on a protocol of intentions to move forward in the evaluation of a comprehensive project, which will include a new pulp mill, located 15 kilometers from the city of Barra do Ribeiro in Rio Grande do Sul.

Suzano Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of Suzano, the world’s largest market pulp producer, has made a strategic investment into the Canadian materials science startup, Bioform Technologies.
