The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) has released the Q3 2024 Containerboard Quarterly report on October 25. According to the report, total U.S. containerboard production in Q3 increased 3% compared to Q3 2023. It was up 6% when compared to the same nine months of 2023.

For the third quarter of 2024, the Company reported an operating loss of $209.3 million, including an asset write-down and impairment charge totaling $211.0 million within its pulp segment.

Manchester Industries, a Clearwater Paper company, recently enhanced its production capabilities in Hagerstown, Indiana, by acquiring a new 73-inch SheetRunner from BW Papersystems. This advanced sheeting system, designed specifically for high-volume board production, will allow Manchester to optimize substrate use, reduce waste and improve production times.

Aldar Tissues, Ireland's largest household and commercial tissue paper manufacturer and part of the Zeus Group, has officially opened its new EUR 15 million tissue paper converting facility in Rathcoole, Dublin.

KP Tissue Inc. and Kruger Products Inc., Canada’s leading tissue products manufacturer, announce the completion of the construction of a new plant on a site adjacent to the existing Sherbrooke TAD facility and the successful start-up of their new double-width light dry crepe (LDC) tissue machine with a capacity of 60,000 metric tons.

India’s Jani Sales has significantly expanded its tissue production capacity at the Sarigam mill, located in Valsad, Gujarat. This expansion increases the facility’s overall capacity to 57,000 metric tons per year, thanks to the introduction of a new virgin fiber-based tissue production line.

Navigator Company has started up a new industrial plant producing moulded fibre for packaging. The company aims to become world pioneer in the production of moulded eucalyptus pulp packaging.

The French producer of corrugated material Papeterie Saint-Michel is being liquidated, EUWID reports. The company has been facing challenging financial difficulties for quite some time and has been placed in receivership since April this year. On 3 October, the commercial court of Angoulême in France placed the company in liquidation.
