Two doctors and their team explored various immobilization techniques to maintain phage activity on paper. They formulated a phage-based bioink that can print phages on paper using a garden variety inkjet printer. The printed phages were active and able to capture and kill pathogenic bacteria. The commercial value and benefits are multi-faceted.

The ‘Green Fiber Bottle’ will be developed with packaging company ecoXpac with the collaboration of Innovation Fund Denmark and the Technical University of Denmark. All materials in the bottle, including the cap, will be developing using bio-based and biodegradable materials.
 
Holmen Reduces Carbon Dioxide Emissions by 45%
New measures have allowed Swedish-based Holmen to reduce emissions of fossil carbon dioxide in 2014 from 123 to 67 kilos per metric ton of paper and paperboard products produced, compared with 2013.
