Prior to its idling in the fourth quarter of 2015, the Old Town Mill was engaged in the business of manufacturing and distributing approximately 155,000 air dried metric tpy of bleached hardwood kraft pulp. ND Paper announced yesterday it will reconfigure the mill to operate at substantially lower manufacturing costs.

Although manager of the former mills will not be purchasing the mill, it appears that a confirmed prospective buyer has come forward with an intent to make paper headquartered in Seattle, Wash., USA. A $9 million dollar offer has been made by the group for a set of mills.

Iggesund paperboard bought two complete PulpEye sets, one for the unbleached and one for the bleached pulps. Both PulpEye cabinets are equipped with modules for online analysis of kappa number, brightness, fiber, shives, and fiber wall thickness, as well as the dot analyzer DotEye.

BASF Increases Prices for Paper Wet-End and Water Chemicals in EMEA region
Company increased prices for paper wet-end and water chemicals in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa), effective at the beginning of this month (Oct. 1, 2018) or as existing contracts allow so as to compensate for increased cost factors. Prices of individual chemicals affected range from 4% to 8% increases.
 
Buckman Announces Price Increase for North America
Effective Nov. 1, 2018, or as contracts allow, Buckman will implement the following freight delivery increases:
Buckman-arranged bulk tank truck orders - $.02 - $.04/lb and Buckman-arranged IBC/drum truck orders - $.02/lb.
