For at least more than one year of monitoring from mid-2017 to very late this past year the Wikipedia page on industrial calendering was not only frighteningly small considering its importance in raw material resource engineering of many types, but its brief nature also did not mention its special relationship to paper and the Supercalendering process. A contributor seemingly more informed about the paper industry provided some recent updates that were recently detected "over-the-wire" for our industry.

It's human nature to be fascinated by the bright and shiny, but it historically doesn't last - hardly anything lasts like the history of paper. And the most important figures from Two Sides that started in mid 2017 and was first published this past January to the day (2018) will now possibly start creating some significant changes in consumer culture that will favor paper more in 2019 while the glow of digital gizmos may be fading.

For environmentalists who do the disservice to themselves and science by turning their cause into a crusade unable to admit the need to evolve, adapt, or admit wrong or more so in the paper industry see the possibilities of what's so powerfully right about a sustainable not just industry, but world for all of us... more evidence has show, especially as these last few decades have taught us with both discoveries and new tech, both paper recycling and advancements in paper making for green purpose hold true potential.

2017 lead article featured by the Asia Paper Markets was either deliberately reprinted (along with several others in a correctly labeled area... sometimes this inadvertent mistake does happen) because the history of the "doom of paper" dates back to the early 1980s due to the threat of computers and paper to each other except during the paradoxical period of the very late 1990s and up to the mid-2000s when the home PC also meant having a home printer for inkjet use more so than today.

While traditional markets like commercial print companies and newspapers have declined some in recent years because of laser printing and online media, individuals are using more paper products. New computer applications allowing them to print their on invitations, scrapbooks, recipes and small business brochures means they will buy paper directly either from an office supply store or online.
