A recently completed (Jan. 2019) market research study was promoted with greater detail in a March 14 press release. Additional notes about the nature of the findings in the full report include: Kraft liner with a GSM grade between 80 to 160 accounted for 58.6% of the revenue share in 2017; Higher GSM grades are expected to register significant growth because of its protective, cushioning ability; The largest international players are striving to penetrate into specific regions and are buying smaller, local operations to achieve this.

Total investment in the new moulded fiber tray factory amounts to approximately SEK 45 million and mainly consists of a tailor-made system for preparing pulp and four machines for the manufacture of trays. The latest machine was purchased at the end of March and is to be put into operation by the end of 2019.

Parliament backed the ban 560-35. EU member states have given their support but need to vote on the measure for it to go into effect. The ban would be implemented from 2021 and would affect a range of plastic products that have reasonable alternatives, such as plastic cutlery, foam takeout food containers, straws, and drink stirrers.

Success of the venture can be seen in the expansions undertaken during the 20 years. The plant was expanded three times since inception, in 2003, 2008 and in 2017.
