American Forest & Paper Association President and CEO Heidi Brock issued the following statement regarding the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) announcement of their final ambient air policy under the Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) program. Valmet will proceed with plans for a phased closure of foundry, machine shop and assembly operations at its production center in Hudson Falls, New York, USA. The first phased closure will begin in March 2020 and continue until final customer orders are fulfilled in summer 2020.

The Voith Group performed well in the 2018/19 fiscal year (ending on September 30, 2019) despite a challenging market and competitive environment and saw profitable growth. As forecast, there was a rise in all key performance indicators of the Group: orders received increased perceptibly as anticipated, buoyed primarily by strong growth at Voith Hydro. Despite the noticeable economic slowdown in many markets and regions, the Group succeeded in growing sales.

There is a strong expectation from consumers, brands and retailers to have recyclable packaging material.
