Rayonier Advanced Materials (RYAM) announced that its facility at Jesup, Georgia, has been impacted by a force majeure declared by its natural gas provider, Southern Natural Gas Company, L.L.C., due to an unscheduled outage of the Elba Express Pipeline's Hartwell Compressor Station (the "SNG Force Majeure Event", or "Event").
 
SCA Acquires Wind Farm with 36 Turbines in Piteå, Sweden
SCA has acquired its first wind farm with the purchase of 36 wind turbines in Markbygden in Piteå municipality, northern Sweden. The acquisition is in line with the company's previously stated goal of becoming one of the Sweden's leading providers of fossil-free electricity generated by wind power.
 
Valmet to Deliver Coating Section Upgrade with Electric Heated Air Dryers to Stora Enso Imatra Mills
Valmet announced that it will upgrade the coating section of Board Machine 5 at Stora Enso Imatra Mills, Tainionkoski in Finland. In addition to electric heated OptiDry Coat air dryers, the upgrade includes a drying capacity increase in the coating section, a new wire loop to the existing dryer group and automation.
 
Marcal Paper Acquires von Drehle Corporation in North Carolina
New Jersey-based tissue producer Marcal Paper today announced that it has acquired von Drehle Corporation, a premier provider of quality towel and tissue products for the away-from-home market. Von Drehle Corporation will operate as a division of Marcal Paper. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

UPM is finalizing the construction works of the greenfield eucalyptus pulp mill in Uruguay and enters the final phases of the project. The start-up of the 2.1 million metric ton/year mill near Paso de los Toros is expected by the end of the first quarter of 2023.

Canfor Pulp Products Inc. (TSX:CFX) is announcing the immediate curtailment of its Intercontinental Pulp Mill, which is expected to be in place for four weeks.
 
PT Suparma, Indonesia, Awards Order for Dryer Fabric Cleaners to ProJet
ProJet received an order for Power Cleaners (dryer fabric cleaners) from PT Suparma, Surabaya for their Paper Machine # 10. The new Cleaners will be installed in the Dryer Section. The value of the order will not be disclosed. ProJet was chosen over competitors because of superior quality, cleaning efficiency, service, availability of spare parts and price efficiency.

Amcor Sells Factories in Russia
Amcor (NYSE: AMCR; ASX: AMC) announced it completed the sale of its three factories in Russia to HS Investments, a Russian-based investor, after receiving all necessary regulatory approvals and cash proceeds, including receipt of closing cash balances. The cash and debt free consideration value is €370 million.
 
Prices for OCC Plunge in Southeast Asia and Taiwan
Clients in Southeast Asia (SEA) have pushed hard for cuts in prices for old corrugated container (OCC) imports over the past two weeks. Buyers in the region projected that there would be sellers under stock pressure willing to lower prices for the grade in the run-up to the Christmas and New Year holiday.
