TAPPI Standards Online Balloting System Update

The migration of the Standards Online Balloting System from Kavi to TAPPI Connect created many undesirable issues in the new Workspace, including some SSIG members losing the ability to connect to the Workspace where the ballots were held. All ballots in progress on the migration day had their deadlines extended out to December to prevent the automatic reminders being sent out every few weeks.

TAPPI has been focused on resolving these issues and is currently testing a new Workspace that we hope will be available soon so we can resume the balloting process. Once the system is functional again, all SSIG members will receive a message informing them about the new workspace, how to log in and vote. Open ballots will be rescheduled so that all members will have a chance to review the Standard for 45 days.

TAPPI is very excited with the possibility of communicating good news in the near future!

If you have any questions, please write to TAPPI Standards Department at standards@tappi.org.

Members for Working Groups of Useful Methods Needed

Reports outlining the overdue reviews for Standards and TIPs were sent to the Quality and Standards Management Committee (Q&SMC) on August 2, 2019. Copies of these reports were also sent to the assigned Working Group Chairmen for these overdue reviews.

Anyone who did not receive the overdue reports but who has an interest may obtain copies by requesting them from standards@tappi.org.

Working Group Chairmen: These reports were sent to you for your information and action, if required. Q&SMC may, according to the Standards Guidelines, withdraw any Standards or TIPs whose reviews are overdue, especially if it appears that little progress is being made on the Work Item. If more information or indications of progress on these Work Items are received prior to the next meeting (October 2, 2019), Q&SMC will take these reports of progress under consideration.
