Special note: Documents appearing in the TAPPI online version of the Standards and TIPs are updated once a month (usually around the 30th). So it is possible that there is a delay between the publication announcement and the posting online. If you are a subscriber to the online access to Standards and TIPs and you are in a hurry for new documents that have not yet been posted, you can send a request for TIPs to tip@tappi.org or for Standards to standards@tappi.org.
Below, you'll find a list of TAPPI Standards that have been recently submitted for balloting to their respective Standard-Specific Interest Groups (SSIGs). The closing date for voting is indicated in parentheses.

TIP 1101-07 Best Practices for Consistency Measurement
The purpose of this guide is to introduce available consistency technologies and their proper selection in Pulp and Paper processes. This guide will discuss each technology’s capability and limitations and give direction on best practices regarding installation. In addition to technology and installation basics the guide will give recommendations for basic consistency loop design. Consistency measurement challenges and possible solutions will also be discussed.
Good consistency measurement and control provides financial benefits by reducing process variability and contributing to final product quality. In order to achieve these benefits, the consistency management program should not only include accurate and repeatable measurements, but it is equally important that the program includes valid calibration procedures. These procedures would include data collection, sampling, and data analysis.
Because mill processes differ, the intent of this guide is to equip readers with guidelines and principles that will allow them to develop and maintain good consistency measurements and controls. Accurate consistency measurement is also important for accounting purposes for stock tracking.
