First Quality Tissue, Great Neck, N.Y., USA, a privately held producer of premium towel and tissue products, reports that it has made plans to add two additional TAD (through-air-dried) tissue machines with an estimated annual capacity of 140,000 tons at locations to be announced in the month or so. These machines are expected to start up in the third quarter of 2015 and the third quarter of 2016, respectively.
The installation of First Quality’s already purchased ATMOS tissue machine, with an expected annual capacity of 70,000 tons is well underway with an expected startup in the first quarter of 2016, at the company’s existing Anderson, S.C., site.
The company stated in a press release that its "leadership recognizes, and is totally aware of, the requirements and expectations of our customers and our needs in the ultra-premium category. Consistent with our business philosophy, we are focused on our business dynamics, our customers, and ultimately our consumers who use and value our products. Additional state of the art capacity ensures, in a more comfortable and confident fashion, the growth and continuous needs of our customers."
Since inception, almost 11 years ago, First Quality Tissue has been committed to providing ultra-premium tissue and towel products to its customers in the U.S., Canada, and select International locations. The company has already installed four state of the art TAD machines—two in Lock Haven, Pa., and two in Anderson. These strategic announcements will bring the company’s total number of tissue machines to seven, with an estimated capacity of 500,000 tons.
