Yankee Dryer Committee Spring Meeting Wrap-up

TAPPI’s Yankee Dryer Safety and Reliability Committee held its spring meeting April 22-23 in Atlanta, Ga., USA. The committee discussed new ways to improve safety and reduce downtime, including steel yankee inspections and preventing doctor blade vibration. An extensive discussion of safety topics, including a review of recent yankee incidents was also part of the program. The committee’s goal is to improve awareness of yankee dryers safety and assure their safe operation throughout the world.  

The YDS&R Committee is open to anyone who operates or supports yankee dryers. The next face-to-face meeting will be Nov. 3-4, 2015, in Neenah, Wis., USA. More information is available online, or contact Scott Springmier.
