Zhuji Paper Begins Trial Runs with New Andritz Tissue Machine in China

Shaoguan Nanxiong Zhuji Paper, China, has started trial runs on a new 25,000 metric tpy tissue machine at its mill in Nanxiong city, Guangdong province, according to a report by RISI Boston, Mass., USA. The Andritz machine came online last month. Andritz (Austria) also supplied the complete stock preparation system, automation, and drives.
The new tissue machine has a trim width of 2.85 meters and a design speed of 1,600 m/min. It was initially scheduled to start up at the end of 2015.
As noted in the RISI report, Zhuji Paper has an existing capacity of 65,000 metric tpy of bamboo pulp and 35,000 metric tpy of uncoated printing and writing paper at the same site. The new tissue machine uses bamboo pulp produced by the Nanxiong mill.
The tissue project at Nanxiong city involved a total investment of RMB 178.9 million ($27 million).
