Cascades Inc., Kingsey Falls, Que., Canada, a leader in the recovery and manufacturing of tissue products and green packaging, has been recognized, for the sixth consecutive year, as the most responsible organization and brand in the eyes of Quebecers.
Cascades did very well in the 2016 Baromètre de la consommation responsable, a study released by the Observatoire de la consommation responsable (OCR) of UQAM's École des sciences de la gestion. This report presents major consumption trends while describing purchasing motivators and barriers. Since 2011, the study has been identifying organizations and brands Quebecers see as being responsible. Cascades topped the list once again this year.
"I am proud that Cascades is once again seen as a responsible leader," said Mario Plourde, president and CEO of Cascades. "Moreover, with a view to always doing more for the planet, for prosperity, and for our partners, we recently launched a third sustainable development plan with new targets for 2016–2020. Such large-scale initiatives undoubtedly enhance Quebecers' positive perception of our company," he continued.
Founded in 1964, Cascades produces, converts and markets tissue and packaging products that are composed mainly of recycled fibers. The company employs 11,000 women and men, who work in close to 90 production units in North America and Europe.
