According to the South County Spotlight, Cascades Tissue Group has received one third of the support it needs to receive an additional two-year tax abatement through benefits granted by the South Columbia County Enterprise Zone after a vote of two enterprise zone partners this week.
On Wednesday, Jan. 18, the city of St. Helens unaimously approved the two-year tax benefit extension. The Port of St. Helens approved the extension earlier this year while officials from Columbia City, Vernonia, Scappoose and Columbia County have yet to rule on it.
All six enterprise zone partners must approve the extension
