According to the Sentinel, Downtown Lewistown Inc. (DLI) Keystone Communities Designation is starting to pay off in a big way for one local company: Nittany Paper Mills Inc. has been awarded a sizable grant.
When DLI received the designation from the Pennsylvania Department of Community Economic Development last year, they were able to apply for funding on behalf of eligible businesses in the designated area.
DLI secured $200,000 in tax credits through DCED’s Neighborhood Assistance Enterprise Zone Tax Credit Program for Nittany Paper Mills. Tax credits up to $500,000 representing 25 percent of the total project investment are available for manufacturing and commercial enterprises located in a designated Keystone Community undertaking major expansion.
