China’s Hebei Yihoucheng Commodity has started up a 25,000-tonne/yr tissue machine at its sole mill in Baoding city, Hebei province. The first sheet of paper rolled off the TM late last month.
The unit, provided by Andritz, has a width of 2.85 m and a design speed of 1,650 m/min, and features a steel Yankee drying cylinder with a diameter of 3.65 m.
Output will be virgin fiber-based tissue paper in a basis weight range of 13-47 g/mē for converting into facial tissue, toilet rolls and kitchen towels.
Its startup was originally scheduled for the end of 2015. The company did not comment on the reason for the delay.
Hebei Yihoucheng also runs an identical TM, which was commissioned in mid-2014 at the same site.
As the first gas-powered paper mill in Baoding, the facility was able to keep operating over the past three winters while authorities mandated local tissue plants with small coal boilers take weeks of downtime to combat heavy smog.
The start-up teams of Hebei Yihoucheng and ANDRITZ
celebrate the first paper on reel.
