Oji Holdings Subsidiary Oji Nepia and Mitsubishi Paper to Form Joint Venture

Oji Nepia, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Oji Holdings Corporation and Mitsubishi Paper Mills have announced that the companies have agreed to form a joint venture for the purpose of producing household products in the area of the Hachinohe mill of Mitsubishi Paper.
The new company will install a tissue paper machine and a tissue converting machine in the area of the Hachinohe mill of Mitsubishi Paper (Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture). The company will try to expand household products business where stable demand is expected.
The new company name will be MPM Oji Home Products Co., Ltd. The CEO will be Keiichi Sato (executive officer of Mitsubishi Paper). The investment ratio is: Mitsubishi Paper 70%: Oji Nepia 30%.
The new facility will produce 18,000 tonnes/yr of of facial and bathroom tissue, the expected investment is 5 billion yen and startup is scheduled for April 2019.
