Yunnan Jinchen Paper has fired up the first tissue machine at its new mill in Huaning county, Yuxi city, in China's southwestern province of Yunnan.
The Kawanoe Zoki unit has a capacity of 20,000 tonnes/yr with a trim width of 3.4 m and a design speed of 1,000 m/min. Its output is virgin fiber-based tissue in the basis weight range of 13-25 g/mē.
According to a source close to the project, the line was initially delivered in 2009 to Dongguan Yongchang Paper’s plant in Dongguan city, Guangdong province, but was never put into production due to the latter’s financial difficulties.
Yunnan Jinchen later acquired the machine and installed it at the Huaning mill.
The company has also signed up domestic supplier Dazheng Machinery to provide another 20,000-tonne/yr TM for the same site. With a trim width of 3.4 m and a design speed of 1,400 m/min, the unit is scheduled to come onstream this year.
