Georgia-Pacific Mill a ‘Mainstay’ for Oklahoma Town of Muskogee

According to the Muskogee Phoenix, with more than 800 employees and annual local payroll and benefits topping $74 million and ongoing investments, the Georgia-Pacific Muskogee mill continues to be a mainstay in the area economy.
Company officials said the replacement cost for the city’s largest private employer would be more than $2 billion.
Marie Synar, director of industrial development for the Muskogee City-County Port Authority, said the fact Georgia-Pacific continues to reinvest in its local plant is a positive sign. In the past few years, Georgia-Pacific invested $58 million in its Muskogee mill, she said.
