Italian Paper and Graphic Industry Revenues Grow by 1.6% percent in 2017

The Italian paper and graphic industry increased its revenues by 1.6 percent in 2017, driven by the good performance of the domestic market, which grew by 2.6 percent year on year in terms of revenues, Federazione Carta e Grafica, the association representing paper machine producers, paper producers and paper converters has revealed. According to the association, the internal demand, in line with the national consumption, grew by 6.9 percent year on year in Q3 2017 and by 8.9 percent in the last quarter of 2017.
In the paper sector, demand increased by 1.6 percent year on year during the first 11 months of 2017, driven especially by packaging and tissue paper, while foreign demand rose by 2.9 percent in the same period. Paper production increased by 2.1 percent year on year, reaching approximately 9.1 million tonnes.
