Lee & Man Fires up New TM in Chongqing

Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing kicked off trial production a new 60,000-metric tpy tissue PM in Marhc at its plant in Chongqing municipality, in southwestern China.
Dubbed TM 15, the Valmet unit has a trim width of 5.6 m and a design speed of 2,000 m/min.
It is the 10th tissue production line to have come on stream there, boosting the facility’s total tissue capacity to 510,000 metric tpyr. Two identical machines are set come on stream there in the first half of this year.
The company also runs four other 60,000-metric tpy tissue PMs - two at its Jiujiang mill in Jiangxi province and two at its Hongmei mill in Guangdong province - all commissioned last year.
In March, the Hong Kong-listed company published its annual report for the year ending December 31, 2017. Its rapid expansion in the tissue sector has generated huge revenue. Sales from its tissue business soared 170.6 percent to HK$2.72 billion ($346.94 million), accounting for 10.5% of the company’s total turnover.
