Italy’s Paperdi has started production of tissue paper at its Pietramelara paper mill in Italy.
The paper machine, which began operating in January, is currently producing at a rate of approximately 2,600 metric tpy but has a capacity of 35,000 metric tpy.
Paperdi acquired Cartiera di Pietramelara at an auction in 2016. The mill was formerly owned by Eurocartiera, which stopped production in 2010 and went bankrupt in 2014.
According to a spokesperson at the mill, the paper machine was significantly modified and updated with the help of Toscotec.
Cartiera di Pietramelara produces tissue paper for both the consumer and commercial markets and its paper is converted by Paperdi.
