Metsä Tissue has started a project to extend the warehouse at its Krapkowice mill in Poland.
"The construction works have already begun, and the new warehouse part will be put into operation at the end of 2018," the company said in a statement. It did not reveal the cost of the project.
According to Metsä Tissue, demand for sanitary paper is expected to grow in all market segments, and the warehouse expansion will make it easier to serve customers from central and western Europe quickly and reliably. "The expansion of the warehouse, which will actually double its capabilities, will help us be competitive and operate efficiently in the coming years. This is a good signal for the entire Krapkowice community," mill manager Pawel Ehrlich said in a statement.
According to Metsä Tissue, the Krapkowice mill produces some 75,000 metric tons/yr of tissue for, amongst others, toilet paper, ktichen towels, paper towels and professional wipes.
