Baoding Zeyu New Material Starts up First TM in Hebei, China

Baoding Zeyu New Material has fired up the first tissue machine at its sole mill in Baoding city, Hebei province, China.

The first sheet rolled off the 25,000-metric ton/yr line last month. Provided by domestic supplier Weifang Hicredit Machinery, the unit has a width of 3.55 m and a design speed of 1,300 m/min, and features a steel yankee drying cylinder with a diameter of 15 feet. It is designed to produce toilet and facial tissue paper furnished with 100 percent virgin wood pulp.

Baoding Zeyu New Material is a newly-established affiliate of Baoding Zeyu Paper, a regional recycled packaging board producer boasting a total fluting and coreboard capacity of around 150,000 metric tons/yr at a plant in the same city.

The commissioning of the TM is its first foray into the tissue business, and further tissue capacity expansion is on the cards.
