Lee & Man orders two more TMs for mill in Jiangxi, China

China’s Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing is advancing with its tissue expansion plan, ordering two more tissue machines for its mill in Jiujiang city, Jiangxi province.

Each will have a trim width of 2.85 m and a design speed of 1,300 m/min, and be capable of producing up to 17,000 metric tpy of tissue.
Earlier this year the company placed orders for four identical PMs for the same mill. All six tissue machines are scheduled to start up by the end of June 2019.
The Hong Kong-listed board giant diversified into the tissue sector in 2014 and has developed into a leading tissue producer fast.
At present it boasts a total tissue capacity of around 870,000 metric tpyr, including 120,000 metric tpy at the Jiujiang mill, 120,000 metric tpy at the Hongmei mill in Guangdong province and 630,000 metric tpy at a mill in Chongqing municipality.
In the first half of this year, Lee & Man’s sales from tissue paper jumped 43.1 percent year-on-year to HK$2.33 billion ($297 million). The segment accounted for 14.2 percent of the company’s total sales, up 4.5 percent from a year ago.
