Hungary’s Vajda Papír has completed the installation of a new tissue machine. The company recently inaugurated its new HUF 15 billion ($52.8 million) integrated tissue mill in the town of Dunaföldvár in south-central Hungary.

Vajda tapped Andritz for the new PM last year. The line reportedly has a design speed of 2,200 m/min, a width of 2.74 m, can produce some 32,000 metric tpy of tissue base paper and raises the company’s converting capacity in Hungary to more than 100,000 metric tpy. According to the company, it is supplying the domestic market and exporting to more than 20 countries in Scandinavia, the Baltics and central and eastern Europe from the new site.

Prior to the construction of the facility in Dunaföldvár, which created more than 100 new jobs, Vajda produced some 22,000 metric tpy of retail tissue in Drammen, Norway.
