Taison Group has kicked off trial production on a new 60,000-metric tpy tissue machine at its Jiujiang mill in Jiangxi province, China. The unit churned out its first sheet of paper in late November.
Dubbed TM 10, it is the last of four identical tissue machines the company ordered from Voith for the site. Each machine has a trim width of 5.6 m and a design speed of 2,200 m/min.
Now having a combined tissue capacity of 240,000 metric tpy, the Jiujiang mill is Taison Group’s third tissue paper production base.
The group also runs a 120,000-metric tpy tissue plant in Chishui city, Guizhou province, through its subsidiary Guizhou Chitianhua Paper Industry, and a 54,000-metric tpy tissue mill in Chongqing municipality through subsidiary Chongqing Well Mind Paper.
It is has ordered two 60,000-metric tpy tissue machines from Andritz for what will be its fourth tissue paper facility in Suzhou city, Anhui province, with startups scheduled for next year.
Market contacts say that the group is also mulling over further capacity expansions at the Chishui mill and the Chongqing mill.
