Fourstones Invests in New Tissue Machine at its Sapphire mill in Scotland

The UK’s Fourstones Group has tapped China’s Weifang Hicredit Machinery to deliver a new tissue PM to its Sapphire mill in Leslie in Scotland, according to Fastmarkets RISI.

According to the machinery supplier, the unit, with a trim width of 2.75 m and a design speed of 1,800 m/min, has a capacity of 80 metric tpd. The new unit is scheduled to be delivered in September 2019.

Fourstones commissioned a smaller tissue PM from Hicredit in 2015. That machine has a trim width of 2.75 m and a design speed of 1,200 m/min and a capacity of 56 metric tpd.

In addition to the Sapphire site, Fourstones also operates the South Tyne mill, which can produce some 7,000 metric tpy of tissue.
